Bybit Mobile App Review

Having launched in 2019, the Bybit exchange quickly became popular as a reliable cryptocurrency derivatives exchange and to no surprise, people wanted a mobile app so that they could enjoy trading on Bybit on the go. Bybit swiftly released a mobile trading website alongside an IOS & Android app. I downloaded the app on both an IOS & Android device to test out how they performed and see what the main features were. Spoiler: I was pleasantly surprised!

App Features

On initial inspection, I saw that all the main features which make Bybit great were available on the mobile app, including many of the things mentioned in our Bybit review.

As an advanced crypto trading app, Bybit offers many exciting and useful features, let’s take a detailed look at what it has to offer.

Trade cryptocurrencies with leverage

You are able to trade all assets available on Bybit on the mobile app with all of the same order features as seen on the desktop app. This includes all order types (limit, stop losses & market) and the order book. The order book changes in real-time and you can see the funding rate and countdown right below it.

Notifications

You are able to set custom alerts on the Bybit app by using the notifications feature available on both IOS & Android devices. You can set up alerts to let you know when the price of an asset on Bybit goes up or down to a price you set on the app. This is a great feature which I love to see with trading apps, it means that you can manage your trading all from one app and never miss out on the action as it happens. You have to be logged in to use the notifications feature on the Bybit app.

Live charts

For each asset you can trade on the Bybit app, you can also view a live chart of the price by clicking the icon in the top right-hand corner. The charts are easy-to-read and have indicators built-in as standard. You can view the charts in both landscape and portrait. It’s also nice to see that you can change the time-frame of the chart with several different options available. The main ones are 1H, 1D, 1W and 1 Month, but there are several other time intervals for the charts on the Bybit app. Another nice thing about the native charts is that if you scroll down below the chart, you can see the order book depth as well as live orders going through, in addition to the contract details (on other tabs).

Manage your assets

You can deposit and withdraw digital currencies directly from the mobile app as well as see your current balances and withdrawal/deposit history. Being able to manage your funds on the go is an incredibly handy feature as you never know when you’ll need to cash out or start trading. I like the fact that the assets page shows you your live total balance in BTC and USD (you can change the currency in the app settings under ‘General’).

Security of the Bybit App

Most traders would say that the security of a trading app is of paramount importance, as your assets need to be safe from hackers and general security breaches. Like the desktop app, the Bybit mobile app also uses 2-factor authentication for logging in as well as withdrawing assets from the exchange. I was also really surprised that when you go to copy the authentication code from the Google Authenticator app, Bybit automatically pastes it when you open the app which saves a lot of time and hassle – I’ve not seen any other crypto trading apps which do this!

In addition to 2FA, withdrawals from the Bybit app are made manually to increase the security for users, these withdrawals are made 3 times per day, every day of the year, so it doesn’t take long to get your funds off the Bybit app.

Finally, you can even set a pattern lock password for the Bybit app (like you see on Android devices), this prevents anyone from being able to access your account in case they manage to get on your phone physically.

Deposit & Withdrawal

Since the Bybit app is a crypto trading app, it is common knowledge that you can deposit with cryptocurrency onto the exchange. You cannot deposit with USDT or any fiat currency on the Bybit app, only cryptocurrencies. Here is a list of the accepted cryptocurrency deposits on the Bybit app:

Similarly to the deposit methods, you can withdraw your funds from the Bybit app with the same cryptocurrencies listed above.

Withdrawal fees on Bybit vary by the asset, but it’s usually only around $5 to make a withdrawal.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Bybit app is a brilliant all-round crypto leverage trading app which is likely to knock other large exchanges like BitMEX off the stand so to speak. It’s extremely advanced, yet intuitive and easy for beginners to use.
