Welcome to our guide on the best online Cryptocurrency casinos.
We’ve created this guide to help you find the best, most trusted, and fair Bitcoin & Crypto casinos as there is a lot of false information out there.
Crypto gambling is becoming increasingly popular due to its provable fairness and quick deposits/withdrawals as no banks are needed to process fiat transactions.
What is a Crypto Casino?
A Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency casino is an online casino where players use cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin to deposit and play on the casino. The casinos are similar to regular online casinos, apart from the difference in deposit and payout methods. Some crypto casinos also accept regular fiat (normal money) deposits as well, I like to call these ‘Hybrid Casinos‘.
Pros & Cons
Naturally, there are both up and downsides to online cryptocurrency casinos. here is a quick breakdown of the pros and cons, I’ll go into more detail in the topics later on in this guide.
The main benefit of gambling with cryptocurrencies is that there is no need for a middle man (e.g banks) and therefore there are generally fewer payment fees and it is much quicker to bet and cashout.
- Provably Fair (Blockchain)
- Quick Deposits/Withdrawals
- No Identity Checks (KYC)
- Cheaper Deposit & Withdrawal Fees
- No Chargebacks
- Less Regulation
As you can see, the downsides are pretty limited in my personal opinion. Having gambled with cryptocurrencies fairly often online, I’ve noticed lots of things about it which are better than traditional gambling and not much that puts me off.
Is it legal?
Cryptocurrency gambling is a fairly new endeavour, and therefore many people are (rightly so) cautious about the legality of it. At the end of the day, you want to be careful about your online activity at all times.
It depends on your jurisdiction as to whether or not it is legal to gamble online with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. In general, yes, it is legal to bet with cryptocurrencies online, but you should always check with your local laws first.
In addition to that statement, there is a flip side which may benefit some users. There are some countries which restrict online gambling with traditional payment methods and cryptocurrencies might be a way of getting around it.
There are some basic rules which we can apply from the traditional gambling industry, such as the 18-year-old minimum age and the safe gambling guidelines (stopping when you need to).
It’s pretty early on in the crypto gambling space, therefore there are a limited amount of regulatory details available but when there is, I’ll be sure to update this article as appropriate.
How safe is it?
On the whole, if you are using regulated cryptocurrency gambling sites/apps with registered company details available, it is pretty safe to bet with crypto online. Since cryptocurrencies are being used on these casinos, there are some risks which we should take into account. The main risk is that if your account is compromised, someone may be able to withdraw funds to their own address, and there isn’t much the crypto casino will be able to do about it since cryptocurrencies, on the whole, are anonymous.
How to stay safe
To counter this risk outlined above, there are things you can do to protect yourself and stay safe when gambling with cryptocurrencies online, here are a few of my tips.
Use 2FA (2 Factor Authentication)
This is a basic security feature implemented on many crypto websites. Essentially, it lets you connect your phone number or authentication app to your account so that a hacker would need access to your physical device in order to get into your account. It’s a widely used security measure and it’s so important that you use it where possible.
Choose a secure password
Like any of your online accounts, you should use a secure password when setting up your account. This password should be different from any other passwords you use online, be unpredictable and use a mix of letters, numbers and characters.
Make sure you visit the correct site
Phishing is a popular method of gaining access to users accounts nowadays. It involves tricking the person into thinking they are interacting with the genuine site or company and then asking for private details. To stay safe from this, always make sure you are visiting the correct web address by entering it directly in your address bar on your browser rather than searching on Google for it. In addition to this, you should never send private account information over un-encrypted sources like Telegram or SMS.
Use a VPN
It sounds a bit overkill I know, but using a VPN like NordVPN drastically reduces your exposure when accessing any website. VPNs can also be handy for getting around geo-blocks on certain casinos.
How to buy Cryptocurrencies for betting with?
If you’re new to the crypto-world, you’ll need to get hold of some cryptocurrencies before you can use online crypto casinos as they don’t usually offer a way to buy them with regular money on the websites. This is a really simple task, and here’s my favourite way of funding a crypto casino:
- Buy Bitcoin (most widely accepted) on Coinbase.com with credit/debit card
- Register on your chosen cryptocurrency casino
- Withdraw Bitcoin from Coinbase to your casino account
It’s that simple, you can start betting from credit/debit card to casino in just a few minutes.
Of course, there are some bonuses on offer when it comes to Bitcoin casinos, but they are actually quite hard to come across. I did some digging to find the best crypto casino bonuses our there for you, and here are the results:
Top 5 Crypto Casino Bonuses
- 50 No-Deposit Free Spins at mBit Casino (Claim)
- 152% Deposit Bonus on Bitstarz (Claim)
- 70 Free Spins on Cloudbet (Claim)
- 100% Deposit Bonus at OneHash (Claim)
- 110% Bonus with FortuneJack (Claim)
Types of Crypto Games
Similarly to traditional casinos, crypto casinos offer a wide range of different games to suit all players. From popular card games like Poker to Roulette, Slots and Dice, there’s sure to be something that tickles your fancy. Here are the main types of games on crypto casinos:
- Wheels (spins)
